Intro/Explanation of Writers Choice piece

For my final piece I decided to choose something that interested me and that I enjoyed reading, “We like the Four Day Week.” This excerpt from our text book was about one school districts idea to change to a four day school week. The idea behind this is the money that will be saved and how there will be more classroom time than with the traditional five day week. The assignment was to construct a summary of the passage as well as to point out the key components that support this idea of the four day week. The concrete facts and specific quotes were what made this summary strong and to the point. I felt as though this summary precisely represents what we have been working towards all quarter and that its presence was very crucial to this portfolio.
